Project Executive – Raleigh
Position Overview: As a Project Executive you’ll lead our Raleigh division (Eastern NC & Southern VA), managing a team that delivers over $35m+ in commercial concrete construction projects, responsible for estimation, financials, project delivery, and divisional growth. Your role involves managing personnel, overseeing performance, and strategically expanding our market presence.
Key Responsibilities:
Divisional Management:
- Lead daily operations, ensuring the efficiency of project delivery and estimators.
- Manage team & projects to minimize investment in working capital, including net billings and retainage to meet gross margin goals.
- Optimize staffing levels and provide comprehensive training for division personnel.
- Drive P&L management, overseeing budgets, costs, contracts, and equipment.
- Build a culture that strongly promotes safety on all levels.

Desired Skills & Experience:

Project Accountant – Charlotte
The Commercial Division-Project Accountant is a full-time position that will be responsible for all aspects of project accounting. This includes project budgeting, revenue tracking, and project cost accounting. You will work with project cost estimating software, setting up project phases and project budgets, and work with the project management team on the timely input and reporting of project information. You will be tracking costs in a job cost database, providing accurate weekly reporting to project management, reconciling to budget, preparing payment draw schedules, and updating budget/current costs.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have project accounting experience including all phases and aspects of project accounting. Experience with the construction industry is preferred, but not required. The ability to work with all employees throughout the company is required.
Duties to include, but are not limited to the following:
Project Accounting
- Manages all project accounting functions.
- Enters project budgets into job cost database, tracks and updates budgets for approved change orders
- Processes all draw submissions and maintains files
- Oversees the payment to contractors and suppliers when construction draws are funded.
- Assist in accounts payable function for the construction projects. Ensures all subcontractors and vendors meet all requirements of contract agreement prior to any payouts.
- Creates all monthly job cost reconciliations.
- Works with the manager to complete the monthly accounting close process.
Information Management
- Works with the project team on processing all transactions on a timely basis, and manages the reporting process to ensure accurate, weekly reports are sent to the project team to effectively manage projects.
- Timely preparation, review and distribution of all monthly financial reporting packages.
- Works with the project team to resolve all accounting and reporting related project issues.
- Prepares job cost and transaction reports, and analyzes and assists management in cost control measures.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s or Associates degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience in accounting for construction projects.
- Experience working with Division Managers, Senior Project Managers and Line Project Managers.
- Experience in accounting procedures, internal controls and database management.
- Proven experience with lien waivers, accounts payable applications, funding requests, cash flow analysis, and account reconciliations.
- Knowledge and understanding of project cost structure, job cost, and construction processes, and be able to apply this information to cost code invoices and effectively track project costs.
- Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously, highly organized and thorough in completion of tasks. Strong work ethic, self-starter, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment that requires prioritizing and performing with a high degree of accuracy while under tight deadlines.

Estimator – Heavy Civil – Charlotte
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Concrete Estimator with strong experience in heavy civil infrastructureand water/wastewater treatment plant (WTP/WWTP) projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for concrete scope in large-scale public and private projects, including foundations, structural concrete, flatwork, formwork systems, tanks, containment, and specialty applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Estimate Preparation:
- Ensure project specifications are thoroughly reviewed, confirmed, and implemented to minimize rework, control costs, maintain quality standards, and align stakeholder expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review project plans, specifications, geotechnical reports, and addenda.
- Prepare quantity takeoffs for concrete, rebar, formwork, embeds, and accessories.
- Solicit and evaluate pricing from subcontractors and material suppliers.
- Develop detailed cost estimates for all phases of concrete work.
- Bid Management:
- Manage bids from start to finish, including attending pre-bid meetings and site visits.
- Coordinate with general contractors, engineers, and owners to clarify scope and answer RFIs.
- Assemble complete bid proposals with supporting documentation and assumptions.
- Scope Analysis & Risk Management:
- Analyze scope of work and identify risks, exclusions, and opportunities.
- Provide value engineering options and cost-saving recommendations.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with project managers, field supervisors, and superintendents to ensure constructability and production alignment.

Qualifications:

Estimators are responsible for evaluating bid specifications and drawings, ensuring that we know everything required to develop a winning bid for new – commercial construction. General Duties
• Obtains paper or digital drawings in order to analyze scope requirements and constructs a detailed bid.
• Develops strong relationships with General Contractor (GC) primarily responsible for sending out requests for bids/quotes.
• Develops a thorough understanding of bid process and bid requirements for each request for bid and GC process to include “construction site” visits as necessary.
• While preparing bids, works within the company guidelines concerning labor and material cost to maximize profit on every project.
• Responsible for the full bid submitting process from drawing receipt, analysis, submittal, and final iteration of the best and final bid submission to include all bid deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:
Estimating & Takeoffs
- Analyze project drawings and specifications to determine scope and concrete requirements (e.g., footings, walls, slabs, post-tension systems).
- Perform quantity takeoffs for materials, labor, and equipment using estimating tools (e.g., PlanSwift, Bluebeam).
- Assist with pricing estimates based on historical data, vendor input, and Doggett’s internal cost structure.

Bid Process Coordination
